Bkwrms day 4 video

Hello guys,

So here’s our video:

(Ghida is busy today and we knew about this only today, we hope that we have at least one day notice next time)

Don’t ask for subscription fees from the bookshop owners. It will drive them away.
Go for a commission approach. Go for a 10-15% commission on sales. Get user acquisition and sell featured posts/products. Pay per click is the most appealing to marketeers.

Also, how are you approaching the data entry process? I can imagine that introducing a thousand books with their details, photos… can be a huge hassle.

From a printing point of view. Make your logo 1 color and include your brand name in a readable font. This will save you a lot of money down the road.

You surely have to go with a code but look at what other people have already done. Pick up their documentation and make it fit your needs. Building a program from scratch will slow you down indefinitely. Don’t be afraid to use plug-ins and code extensions.

@rabih

at the beginning there is no option to buy from the app (the process is a bit complex from the banks’s side), and we are offering a stock solution system which can be customized to become a POS system (we are willing to charge something less than a POS monthly cost)

We will be using the ISBN database (it is open source), the camera will act as an ISBN scanner and the book will be entered to the database it will be scan then add the amount.

For the logo we tried doing it with 1 color and then with 2 colors and it wasn’t that good
concerning the font we are using a font so clear and readable

The code is currently being developed and it would be launched soon, I guess we weren’t doing things that correctly, but we began this process before starting here

Thanks for your feedback

A small thought for you @mahmoud_trabulsi - even if you have started down a path sometimes it takes a bit of strategic planning to cut your losses and save resources. The most important thing you can do is find a willing customer and work with a prototype no matter how inefficient a code free test is.

Here’s a story to inspire you:

“During the height of the space race in the 1960s, legend has it, NASA scientists realized that pens could not function in space. They needed to figure out another way for the astronauts to write things down. So they spent years and millions of taxpayer dollars to develop a pen that could put ink to paper without gravity. But their crafty Soviet counterparts, so the story goes, simply handed their cosmonauts pencils.”

Although the story is a myth, the basic concept is something we can learn from. Before you invest everything and head down a path, figure out the path you need to be on.

Huge hugs and we’re here for you as you ask the hard questions.
With great encouragement,
Bilal Ghalib

Don’t follow the money.
POS systems are not that expensive as before and don’t include a monthly fee, it’s a one time payment. Lebanon’s Hamster POS offers a fully functional system for 700$.
Also, Loyverse.com offers FREE web based/APP POS systems that are over the top. No hidden fees.
You can take a picture and add your product’s price and have a multistore using one account.

Contact Areeba. They’re the best payment gateway in Lebanon. To have an online payment gateway you need to be an incorporated company and open a corporate bank account. This will cost you around 3500$ for the company’s registration + 300$ gateway setup fees and lawyer+accountant fees. Things you can’t do without having money.
Don’t let that stop you. Go for the cash on delivery, worse case scenario you lose 3$ delivery fee.

Think about how you are going to make it: easier for the vendors and cheaper for the clients.

These are some great tips! Thanks @rabih for sharing them! I had no idea about a lot of this stuff
