Mentorship is a very important part of BAE (if not the most important).
We believe behind every great startup is a great mentor.
Prior to bringing on mentors to BAE our mentors attend a mentor orientation session which ensures they are equipped with the right skills to be mentor.
Mentors come from different industries and fields. They can really help you get unstuck, share tons of industry experience, and provide you with customized guidance. With BAE, you can receive private, on-demand mentorship from local and global mentors! Many of these mentorship sessions may become forged relationships that go beyond the program (that’s wonderful stuff)!
Mentee Tips
Be open to negative feedback
It’s the most productive compliment!
Develop rapport
Ask them all sorts of questions like if they have any pets or what hobbies they love to do.
Be authentic
Mentors can only help you when you show them your true self, mistakes included.
You’re the decision maker
Different mentors might give you contradicting advice. The onus is on you to follow your intuition and choose the advice that you feel is right.
We’ve also produced a Bootcamp Mentor-Startup MOU for your reference. An MOU can create shared expectations and cover important topics like confidentiality, trust, and reinforce understanding and positivity. Check it out, make a copy and customize it for your own mentor meetings.
